Use LED Halloween Lights to Make Great Halloween Costumes
LED holiday lights are great for making your spooky yard, haunted house or fall festival more welcoming and attractive to guests. But with battery-powered LED lights and a little ingenuity, you can incorporate them into your costumes too.
We’ll start with one of the more involved projects we’ve seen – the iPhone controlled LED light suit. It may be more than the average person wants to take on (though you can find instructions here , but this video demonstrates the killer effects on a dark night:
Scientists have discovered that the fluorescent markings on swallowtail butterfly wings function very much like LED lights. You can fashion your own glowing fairy or butterfly wings with some wire and a strand of colored battery powered LED lights, which come in green, warm white, purple, amber, blue and other color choices. With battery packs small enough to fit in a pocket, you can illuminate many different kind of costumes and glow in the dark as you trick-or-treat.
For another idea, check out this LED-powered jellyfish costume made with LED rope lights, a bike helmet and a plastic bowl. Whether you’re trying to dominate the dance floor, score an extra handful of candy, or win the best costume contest, you’ll have a good chance of succeeding. Have a look:
